Hotels reach record levels for Société des Bains de Mer with gaming up too
During the first quarter, Monaco-based Société des Bains de Mer and its subsidiaries generated a 12 per cent increase in turnover compared to the same period last year with gaming up and hotels achieving a personal best.
The gaming sector recorded a turnover of €50.6m for the past quarter compared to €47m last year. The volume (Drop) in Table Games increased, partially offset by an unfavorable risk at the beginning of the year. The consolidated turnover of the S.B.M. Group amounted to €244m compared to €218.4m previously, an increase of €25.5m.
All sectors of activity showed an increase in turnover with hotel revenue reaching a new record of €148.9m compared to €130.3m in the same period last year, an increase of €18.6m. This increase was felt at all establishments, with an increase in the occupancy rate of hotels and restaurant attendance, but also an increase in prices, which confirms the attractiveness of the hotels and restaurants of the S.B.M. Group and the quality of the work of all its teams.
Stéphane Valeri, Chairman and Deputy of the Société des Bains de Mer, said: “Revenue for the first quarter of the 2025-2026 financial year increased in all business segments and confirms the growth momentum of the S.B.M. Group, as well as the relevance of our strategy. The activity of our hotels and restaurants was particularly dynamic throughout the quarter, particularly during the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix. »
The rental sector of the S.B.M. Group, which includes the rental activities of shops and offices as well as the activities of the Monte-Carlo Bay, Balmoral, Villas du Sporting and One Monte-Carlo hotel residences, posted a turnover of €39.2m compared to €36.9m for the same period of the previous year, This is an increase of €2.3m. This increase is mainly due to the gradual rental of the new commercial spaces available at the Café de Paris as well as the contractual application of rent indexations.
