Table gaming drives strong summer at Société des Bains de Mer
Monte Carlo operator sees growth across whole portfolio
Driven by strong summer activity within its resorts, Monaco operator Société des Bains de Mer saw its turnover increase by 10 per cent to €542.5m with growth in all of the group’s business sectors, including the table gaming sector.
This generated an operating profit of €105.4m and a largely positive net result of €127m, confirming the solidity of the SBM Group’s financial model.
Stéphane Valeri, Chairman and Deputy of the Société des Bains de Mer, said: “With an increase in results compared to the same period of the previous year, the first half of the 2025-2026 financial year confirms the solidity of our business model and our ability to develop our growth, through the dynamism of our activities and our continuous investments. With the repositioning of the Monte-Carlo Beach, the creation of new ultra-private clubs, the delivery of the first phase of the renovation of the Hôtel Hermitage and the Monte-Carlo Bay, new stars in the restaurant industry, the arrival of Chef Cedric Grolet, and new marketing initiatives in the gaming sector, in particular, the summer season has taken full advantage of the very recent investments made by the group. All our activities posted an upward performance, confirming the relevance of our development strategy in the Principality of Monaco, not to mention the international growth drivers.”
Gaming revenue was up six per cent to €134.7m. The growth in gaming revenue was driven by an increase in table game volumes over the period compared to the same period of the previous year, which compensated for a decrease in revenue observed on automatic machines, due to an unfavorable risk over the period.
Hotel revenue was up 13 per cent to €326.8m with a good performance across all its establishments, with an increase in average accommodation prices and an increase in restaurant attendance over the summer period.
